Moffat Family Trophy
The Moffat Family Trophy started in 1991/92 in honour of Donald, Craig and Timothy Moffat’s outstanding service to PAOCCC.
The Moffat Family’s involvement with PAOCCC has spanned the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s with this support continuing well into the 2000’s and beyond. Both Craig and Timothy (pictured with the trophy above) are playing life members of PAOCCC while Donald (pictured below) is an honorary life member for service to the Club (one of only three people to hold that recognition). Craig is also a 15 year life member of the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association.
On the field, the Moffat’s played over 250 games for the Reds (Craig 158 over 21 seasons from 1976/77 to 1978/79 and 1980/81 to 1997/98 and Timothy 94 over 14 seasons from 1977/78 to 1978/79 and 1980/81 to 1991/92. During their playing careers, Craig won the B-Grade batting trophy in 1978/79 while Timothy won the C-Grade batting trophy in 1980/81, 1982/83 and 1983/84.
But it was off field that the Moffat’s made their biggest contribution, collectively contributing 5 years as Chairman, 6 years as Secretary and 4 years as Treasurer. This included season 1991/92 when they held all three senior Committee positions. These contributions are summarised as follows:
Timothy Moffat: Secretary (1982/83), Chairman (1985/86, 1986/87, 1987/88)
Craig Moffat: Treasurer (1988/89, 1989/90, 1990/91, 1991/92), Chairman (1991/92, 1992/93)
Donald Moffat: Secretary (1989/90, 1990/91, 1991/92, 1992/93, 1993/94
In addition, Craig and Timothy also served three terms as President of PAOCA, Tim in 1988/89 and Craig in 1993/94 and 1994/95.
