MATCH REPORT

PAOCCC won the toss yet again and decided to bat on an Adelaide Oval wicket that unsurprisingly looked pretty flat. Hooky opened the batting with Christo and for the second time in as many Adelaide Oval fixtures was unfortunately unable to complete the game due to his ageing leg muscles. It was slow going early and when Tambo and Richardson departed in successive balls trying to clear the Chappell Stands, PAOCCC were in trouble at 4 for 42 off 12 overs. Tyler and Hurby were given the task of steadying the ship which they did beautifully. The lower order also chipped in to get the Reds to a competitive total of 108 from our 20 overs. Tyler was the best with the bat scoring 41.

108 was probably a little below par but we knew our strength in the T20's all season has been out fielding and bowling and were confident we had enough runs on the old scoreboard. Pooraka, who just stopped short of singing their team song at the change of innings, were incredibly confident of winning the game. However, as expected our bowling and fielding was first class and we didn't allow any of Pooraka's batsmen to break the shackles. Pooraka were bowled out for 89 in the 20th over with our marquee man Tambo taking 4 for 21 and Thomo and Philly picking up 2 wickets each.

The above culminates a very successful summer of T20 cricket for PAOCCC, having played and won eleven T20 matches (including winning the Statewide T20 Champions Cup), three of which were played on Adelaide Oval. Congratulations to captain Michael Richardson and to all players on an outstanding campaign!

Thanks for ATCA, SACA, Adelaide Oval and the umpires for giving us this opportunity. We also thank the competition sponsor, Greenthumbz, Greenthumbz
