It was with great pride that Sam Tyler on behalf of the PAOC Cricket Club accepted the innagural Jeff Emmmel Spirit of Cricket Award at the ATCA presentation night. This award was presented to Sam by Jeff Emmel. The ATCA created this award to reward the club that best represented the spirit of the game of cricket and fittingly named it after a person who definitely represents that spirit in Jeff Emmel.

Jeff Emmel Spirit of Cricket Award
At the commencement of the 2009/10 season the ATCA Board of Management approved the introduction of the above award to highlight its commitment and the importance of the spirit of the game of cricket. The award to be contested by teams in Premier A1 and A2 competitions is judged by the umpires officiating in the respective matches. There are a number of conditions applicable to this award including penalties for players found guilty of offences under the ATCA code of conduct. The round by round and a running total of votes, which will be updated as we head towards finals, is available for viewing.
