Captain's Report

We won the toss and chose to bat first on the Park 9 Road. Shane "Rubbo" Roberts walked out to face the first ball with the Love Walrus, Barry White belting out over the PA system. Rubbo either overestimated his leg speed or underestimated the fielding but taking a second run with the fielder having the ball in his hand was a Kamakasee action. This brought to the crease the Greek Adonis Alex "Lexi" Marantos, who is in special form. Lexi thought he'd tee off and give the crowd some of the excitement they had come to see, scoring a quick fire 42 from only 23 balls, including 8 fours. The boys then continued until the end and with a cameo 15 not out from Sam Pick at the end, the score ended on 133, Flinders requiring an unlikely 6.65 per over to win.

The bowling started indifferently with Tom "C#%t" Phillips being dispatched over "Moo" corner first ball of the innings. Two balls later the first wicket fell with the stumps being smashed by a huge inswinger. "Crazy" Jack Brabham and Russell "The Love Muscle" Muldoon both held up their ends and kept the runs tight. Philly was the reintroduced and dismissed the only batsmen who hit out, with a magnificent catch to Tyson "Whippit" Smith, much to the excitement of Heito's hill. Phillips then proceeded to take a further 3 wickets in 4 balls and Sam "Cotton Wool" Pick chimed in with a two over cameo collecting the last two wickets. Flinders were bowled out for 95 - a very solid win for the boys and bring on the Semi-Finals.
