Former club committeman and good guy Andrew Grant reports from Perth.

PAOCCC, I have found (& joined) a cricket club over here in the west - 'Balcatta', a good bunch of blokes and one of the stronger turf-equivalent clubs, with their top side in 1st Grade. If any player is headed for Perth and keen for a game, contact Andrew Grant on agrant@docep.wa.gov.au or 0423 304 261. Also, if any of the 'Old Hep C Corp' are over and want a bit of a tour, welcome to oblige!'

Moved in May - what a drive! - had a long settling-in period, then Katrina's (my partner) parents were over for 6 weeks, then... the job hunting began - which was like doing uni assignments every couple of days! I have taken up a new position as Project Officer and at a glance the work looks quite interesting over the coming months... dealing with key performance indicators and half yearly reports....

All has been going well and we have been enjoying the superb but drought-ridden weather - it has been so, so dry, it really quite scary! Great wines and fantastic lifestyle, with festivals/events/concerts happening in and around the city every weekend.

I have found a cricket club - 'Balcatta' - who are a good bunch of blokes. The turf-equivalent comp over here is a bit bizarre at first glance with 10 grades over 4 divisions. Also, only the top 4 grades actually play on turf, with the rest on hard mat-covered wickets, which makes for interesting batting when a quick flings down a bouncer! Anyway, Balcatta is one of the stronger clubs, with their top side in 1st grade. If any of the lads are headed this way and want a game, they are welcome to contact me for a hit.

Also if any of the regulars, like yourselves are headed west and want a bit of a tour, welcome to oblige!

Hope the club is going well

Cheers
Granty
