Player Profile

Name: Greg (Colonel) Sanders
Occupation: Managing Director
Highest Score: 126 not out in the 1996/97 season
Best Bowling: Too many years ago, can't recall
Greatest Cricket Achievement: 1996/97 season - 662 runs, 2 centuries, average 60.2
Ambition for this season:300 runs + a Premiership + never running 3's every again, if the ball ain't hitting the rope it is a single every time. Not to get lapped when running singles because the other idiot will be run out and I am a team player
Most memorable moment at PAOCCC: 2 Premierships. Smacking 70 runs off about 8 overs in the last game of a season to clinch the batting trophy. Simon Butler's 9 wickets was impressive.
Most memorable game for PAOCCC: The tied Premiership, took a catch in the goal square that was going like a tracer bullet in semi darkness, it turned the game.
Funniest memory from the PAOCCC: Way too many, perhaps one of our players standing at fine leg, was scratching at the turf with his boots for several overs and eventually he was standing in bare feet... he had buried his boots because his feet were sore. The best one to top them all, after the pub... about 20 of us at a Chinese restaurant... food was very slow in coming and one of the player's fiance was getting very drunk. She ended up under the table....
Most admired player at PAOCCC (past / present): Geoff Pearce - probably the best bowler I have seen for consistency over an extended period, and this was playing A Grade in his 40's.
Favourite social event: Popeye (and low cut dresses), also the Golf Day is a hoot
Most embarrassing cricket moment: Having recruited a West Indian guy who wandered across Dequetteville Terrace to watch a game on Park 15, got him in the side the following week, threw him the ball to open the bowling, the batsman were crapping themselves... he runs in and bowls half rat power crap and gets carted all around the ground.
Favourite aspect of cricket: Batting well, and the sideline support of recent years, sometimes easy on the eye and always funny
Which song would you like to walk out to bat to: I did it my way... or ... Let my calf do the running
Do you have any cricket superstitions: Heito bringing his swag to the game, I know it is going to be a rough day if we are fielding

Favourite

Actor: Sean Connery - not fussed really
Actress: Anyone that breathes
Movie: Spartacus - scared the crap out of me when I was a teenager (14'ish) and I saw boobs on the screen for the first time.
TV Show: 60 Minutes / Frasier
Band / Group: The C Grade groupies
Food: Thai
Beverage: anything cheeky
Favourite Australian cricket player (past or present): Dennis Lillee
Favourite International cricket player (past or present): Ian Botham
Sportsperson: Choppper Read - inspirational, with a body like his
AFL team: Crows
