The second ATCA Sports Quiz and Memorabilia Night was held last Friday night. Ben Allen reports on the night.

The old reds put in a starring performance last friday at the 2nd ATCA super quiz and memorabilia night , aka the atca sqam 2. This year Turf supremo Andrew 'Banger' Ramsay had arranged for former australian test and 1-day star Dean 'o' Jones to make a guest appearance, as celebrity speaker and part-time quiz master. Deano left us in no doubt as to the crucial role that confidence in one's own abilities plays in a cricketer's performance. A valuable lesson come finals time. Highlights of Deano's presentation were his famous double tons in Adelaide in 89 and Madras in 86. It was also pleasing to hear that the Aussie cricketers carried on as much as a bunch of LO C-grade Old Reds when they're out in the middle and celebrating post game.

We had 2 tables at the quiz - one comprising Ingers, Supercoach, Chopper, BA, Knackers and partners, the other made up of (slightly) younger stars- Wills, Ed, Styles, Weid and other notables. Although one of our tables (Red-Machine) was leading going in to the final round, the booze provided by volunteer barmen S.Richo, Captain Siciliano and Honorary Red Alex Chapman must have kicked in and we faded to an honourable 4th. The paoc pups finished just outside the 8.

Well done again to all the blokes who turned up on the night. We must have had the largest contingent from any club. At least we now know how to spell Cossioszkoe.
