Weed becomes the 27th player to play 150...
Tomorrow sees one of the all time great people of our club achieve a very significant milestone. Brad Weidenhofer becomes just the 27th player to reach 150 games. It is virtually impossible to do justice to the contribution Weed has made at the club.
On field his exploits are extraordinary and off field he has more than matched that. Weed has been a member of the committee for 12 years. Of those he's spent two as Chairman, one as Vice Chairman, four as Secretary and four as Treasurer. He won the Best 21 and Under player award in 2003/04. He won the B-Grade batting with 400 runs in 2010/11 and captained the B's in 2010/11 & 2011/12.
Team success has been a feature of Weed's career with him featuring in the 2002/03 B-Grade premiership, the 2003/04 A-Grade premiership, the 2014/15 A-Grade premiership and the 2014/15 T20 Div 2 premiership as captain. Making the PAOCCC Team of the Year in both 2008/09 and 2014/15 are also hi-lights.
The award that sums up Weed the best though is the Moffat Family Trophy for the Best Club Man. Weed has won this on four occasions and quite possibly deserved even more.
On a personal note I would like to say that Weed is one of the most loyal, hardworking and selfless people I have met. It has been a privilege to be involved in the club with him and without his tireless work our club would not be what it is today. Thankyou Brad and congratulations on 150 games. I hope you improve two runs on your highest score of 98* tomorrow. Good luck.
