Back to back premiers

PAOC 8 for 113 (Hook 30) defeated Reynella 73 (Phillips 4 or 13)

As if playing our fifth T20 match on Adelaide Oval in the space of three years wasnt exciting enough, getting inexplicably sent in to bat after losing the toss on Adelaide Oval had all the boys in a good mood just prior to the start of this year's T20 Grand Final versus Reynella.

PAOC got off to a solid start with Keagan and Hooky putting on 52 for the first wicket at just under a run a ball. Keagan fell for 20 and a few balls later Hooky fell for a well made 31. Richo and Tyler then combined and ran plenty of singles to take the score to 89 off 15 overs before they both fell to full tosses from the Reynella offie in consecutive overs. The middle order and tail then struggled to maintain the momentum and we ended up having to settle for 113 off our allotted overs.

Previous experience told us that 113 would be plenty - however he knew we needed to bring a solid bowling performance to the table and that we did. Bowie opened our account with the important wicket of Gabb and from there it was Thomo and Philly who strangled the opposition with our Mexican taking the impressive figures of 2 for 4 off 2.1 overs and Man of the Match Phillips taking 4 for 13 off his 4 overs. An honourable mention to Denty for his self proclaimed "brilliant" run out of the Reynella number three.

Another fantastic end to the T20 season much to the delight of our frugal Treasurer particularly as we played the finals without the assistance of any dual registered players.

Looking forward to the three-peat in 2013.
